Precedence

A token is a simple expression which doesn't contain any sub-expressions. In this section we will examine the rules for how tokens are combined into more complex expressions.

A primary is either a token or an expression surrounded by parentheses, brackets, or braces.

A word is one or more primaries, with no spaces or other white space characters.

A statement is one or more words, separated by newlines or semi-colons.

Each word or statement consists of a number of sub-expressions (tokens or words, respectively).
